To know wisdom, instruction
To understand words of insight
Fear the Lord
To receive wisdom's direction
In fairness, justice and right
Fear the Lord

The fear of the Lord
Is beginning of wisdom

Prudence to those who are simple
Knowledge, discretion to youth
Fear the Lord
Let the wise increase in their learning
Guidance if they understand
Fear the Lord

Wisdom cries aloud in the street
At the city gate entrance, she cries and she speaks
Fear the Lord
For the simple are killed by their turning away
So they will eat of the fruit of their ways
Fear the Lord

But whoever listens dwells secure
