1.
Words: Jean B. de Santeüil, 1686 O Christ, who hast prepared a place For us around Thy throne of grace, We pray Thee, lift our hearts above, And draw them with the cords of love. Source of all good, Thou, gracious Lord, Art our exceeding great reward; How transient is our present pain, How boundless our eternal gain! With open face and joyful heart, We then shall see Thee as Thou art: Our love shall never cease to glow, Our praise shall never cease to flow. Thy never-failing grace to prove, A surety of Thine endless love, Send down Thy Holy Ghost, to be The raiser of our souls to Thee.
2.
Words: Ray Palmer, 1858 Lord, Thou wilt bring the joyful day Beyond earth’s weariness and pains, Thou hast a mansion far away, Where for Thine own a rest remains. No sun there climbs the morning sky, There never falls the shade of night, God and the Lamb, for ever nigh, Over all shed everlasting light. Hallelujah Hallelujah Our God will reign forever There, Lord, Thy way-worn saints shall find The bliss for which they longed before; And holiest sympathies shall bind Thine own to Thee for evermore. Around the throne bright legions stand, Redeemed by blood from sin and hell; And shining forms, an angel band, The mighty chorus join to swell. Hallelujah Hallelujah Our God will reign forever O Jesus, bring us to that rest, Where all the ransomed shall be found, In Thine eternal fullness blest, While ages roll their cycles round.
3.
Words: Hans A. Brorson, 1913 Behold a host, arrayed in white, Like thousand snow clad mountains bright, With palms they stand. Who is this band Before the throne of light? Lo, these are they of glorious fame Who from the great affliction came And in the flood of Jesus’ blood Are cleansed from guilt and blame. Now gathered in the holy place Their voices they in worship raise, Their anthems swell where God doth dwell, Mid angels’ song of praise. Despised and scorned, they sojourned here; But now, how glorious they appear! Those martyrs stand a priestly band, God’s throne forever near. So oft, in troubled days gone by, In anguish they would weep and sigh. At home above the God of Love For aye their tears shall dry. They now enjoy their Sabbath rest, The paschal banquet of the blest; The Lamb, their Lord, at festal board Himself is Host and Guest. Then hail, ye mighty legions, yea, All hail! Now safe and blest for aye, And praise the Lord, who with His Word Sustained you on the way. Swing high your palms, lift up your song, Yea, make it myriad voices strong. Eternally shall praise to Thee, God, and the Lamb belong.
4.
Words: Ray Palmer, 1854 Verse 1: Thy Father’s house! Thine own bright home! And Thou hast there a place for me! Though yet an exile here I roam, That distant home by faith I see. Verse 2: I see its domes resplendent glow, Where beams of God’s own glory fall; And trees of life immortal grow, Whose fruits o’erhang the sapphire wall. Pre-Chorus: I know that Thou, who on the tree Didst deign our mortal guilt to bear, Will bring Thine own to dwell with Thee, And waitest to receive me there. Chorus: Thy love will there array my soul In Thine own robe of spotless hue; And I shall gaze while ages roll, On Thee, with raptures ever new. Chorus 2: O welcome day! when Thou my feet Shalt bring the shining threshold o’er; A Father’s warm embrace to meet, And dwell at home for evermore.
5.
All hail 03:09
Words: Philip Doddridge (1702-1751) All hail, victorious Saviour, hail! I bow to Thy command; And own that David’s royal key Well fits Thy sovereign hand. Open the treasures of Thy love, And shed Thy gifts abroad; Unveil to my rejoicing eyes The temple of my God. There as a pillar let me stand On an eternal base; Upreared by Thine almighty hand And polished by Thy grace. There deep engraven let me bear The title of Thy God; And mark the new Jerusalem, As my secure abode. In lasting characters inscribe Thine own belovèd name, That endless ages there may read The great Emmanuel’s claim. Lead on, my General, I defy What earth or hell can do; Thy conduct, and this glorious hope Shall bear Thy soldier through.
6.
Words: Frances J. Crosby, 1868 Verse 1: Why do the holy angels sing? Why do the heav’nly arches ring With anthems sweet from seraphs bright, With glittering crowns and robes of white? Verse 2: Glory to Thee, our God, they cry, Maker of earth, and sea, and sky, To Thee our highest strains belong, Thou great Inspirer of our song. Chorus: They sing of the Lamb that was slain, The Saviour that lives again, The root of David and offspring The brightest star of the morning Verse 3: Beautiful world where all is bright, Rivers of gold and fields of light, In murmured tones of joy prolong The echo of the angels’ song. Verse 4: Well may the holy angels sing, Well may the heav’nly arches ring, With anthems sweet from choirs above, They sing of God, and God is love.
7.
Words: Richard Baxter, 1681 Ye holy angels bright, Who wait at God’s right hand, Or through the realms of light Fly at your Lord’s command, Assist our song, or else the theme For mortal tongue too high doth seem. Ye blessèd souls at rest, Who ran this earthly race And now, from sin released, Behold your Saviour’s face, God’s praises sound, as in His light Ye do abound with sweet delight. Ye saints, who toil below, Adore your heavenly King, And onward as ye go Some joyful anthem sing; Take what He gives, and praise Him still, Who ever lives, through good or ill. My soul, bear thou thy part, Triumph in God above, And with a well-tuned heart Sing thou the songs of love; Let all thy days till life shall end, Be filled with praise whate’er He send.
8.
Words: Richard Jensen, 2018 When time has passed and sin is gone New heaven and earth will be our home Forever with the Saviour, praise His name for ever all our days God will dwell among his own Within the new Jerusalem A Holy City, bride of the Lamb Made beautiful by his own hand Chorus: No more crying, no more pain No more will death our joy constrain Because our Saviour died for us The pain he bore instead of us The city will not need the sun Nor the moon to shine upon God's glory will provide the light The Lamb, its lamp gloriously bright (Chorus) When time has passed and sin is gone New heaven and earth will be our home

about

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Revelation 21:1-4, ESV
