The tears of those with none to comfort them
Better the dead than those with life
Better than both, the one not yet alive
(Two are better than one)

Under the sun
Is evil and oppression
All is vanity
Striving and insanity

Better than two hands full of toil
Is a handful of tranquillity
Never satisfied with spoil
Depriving yourself of joy's stability
(Two are better than one)

2 are better than 1
For if 1 falls down
The other helps up
But the 1 has no 1
2 keep them warm
2 help them
A cord of 3 strands is not easily broken
